I am incredibly excited to be merging my two passions of teaching and photography in this one-time class.
Q&A and policies:
Q: Do I need to have a fancy camera to attend?
This class is designed for people who have DSLR cameras (digital, interchangeable-lens cameras). However, much of the material is also applicable to anyone with a point-and-shoot camera, so no one is excluded!
Q: Do I need to have any experience or knowledge to attend?
Absolutely not! This class is designed for beginners and will cover the basics of operating your camera as well as some of the more complex techniques of composition, finding great light, and working in less-than-ideal lighting conditions.
Q: Is this class just for moms?
Not at all. It’s for anyone who wants to take better images of people. This means if your dream is to take amazing close-up photos of flowers, you’ll want to find another class for that. My passion is photographing people (children in particular) so everything we cover will be geared toward that.
Q: What will the class cover?
I’ll be sharing some of my most powerful tips to improve your photography immediately, showing lots of examples from my early sessions of what NOT to do. We’ll learn about shooting in manual mode, covering all the basics like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO in an understandable way. We’ll discuss shooting in low light, good composition, freezing motion, Then we’ll get out our cameras and practice shooting on a real live child. Last, there will be plenty of time for Q&A so have those questions ready!
Q: Can I purchase a seat for someone else as a gift?
Yes. In fact, the timing of the class would make it an ideal Mother’s Day gift!
