This is going to be a bit more personal than what I usually post on this blog. But I couldn’t pass up the opportunity today to honor my husband for being such an incredible father.

Ken, when I married you 5 years ago I figured you would be a great Dad but I had no idea just how great you would be.

The kids absolutely LOVE being with you. Their smiles light up the room when you come home each night. (“SURPRISE!!”)

To get Amelia out of a bad mood, all I have to do is tell her tomorrow is a “Daddy day” and she’s instantly all smiles. You’ve definitely won their hearts.

You also are faithful to teach them God’s ways and care for their little souls. I love listening you read the bible to them every night and answer their questions about heaven. I love how you patiently teach them to obey and pray for them before you leave for work.

You have a great sense of humor and it comes out most when you’re being goofy with the kids. Mimi always tells me, “My dad is SOOO funny! He’s always doing silly jokes with me!”

You invest so much time in playing with them, reading with them, and exploring new things with them. Even after a long day at work you’re never too tired to give Carter a piano lesson or kick a ball around with Amelia or push Luke on the swing.

You encourage me when parenting gets tough and you trust God for the grace to train our little ones.

I could not be more grateful for you, or have ever asked for a better father for my children. Thank you for all you do for them and for me. We love you!

Happy Father’s Day!!!

After photographing his parent’s maternity portraits a few months ago I was excited to meet little Maxwell a few days after his arrival. He was an absolute dream to work with… happy, quiet, sleepy when I wanted him to be and alert when I wanted him to be. Add to that some gorgeous window light in his nursery and this was by far the quickest, easiest newborn session I’ve done. Thanks, Maxwell! :)

I asked (only half-jokingly) if I could rent out their nursery to use as my studio.

Congratulations to the new parents! He is absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to watch him grow!

Meet the Stubblefield family. I had the privilege of photographing this family during their stay in Maryland. Jason was attending the Pastors College at our church and decided to give his wife a great Mother’s Day present – a photo shoot with her two little girls!

He joined in for a few shots too so they’d have some updated family photos.

Marilyn and Vivian are spunky little girls with LOTS of personality.

Oh that face!

Judith Ann brought these vintage dresses which have been in the family for years. She said she has a picture of her mother tying this very dress on her when she was a little girl! So fun to recreate that moment with her own daughter.

Doesn’t she have the most beautiful baby blue eyes??

It was a joy and privilege to work with you, Jason and Judith Ann!
